Phyllis Spencer, Partner and founder of Spencer Employment Services, has worked in Vocational Rehabilitation Counselling for over 16 years providing case management and consultation services to assist individuals and organizations in Career Development and Disability Management.  Phyllis has worked with over 1500 clients and has co-ordinated catastrophic, medical and vocational services with various members of the rehabilitation team including, medical reports from doctors and specialists, functional ability assessments from physio and occupational therapists, psycho-vocational reports from psychologists and physical demands analyses from employers which allowed a thorough picture of each worker and their employment situation.

As a Life Care Planner, Phyllis has five years of solid experience developing and reviewing life care plans.  Her formal education includes; Registered Rehabilitation Professional designation from Canada’s Vocational Rehabilitation Association, Life Care Planning education from the University of Florida, and two degrees from the University of Western Ontario of which one is a Masters in Journalism and the Career Development Practitioner diploma from Conestoga College.

She is a member of the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada (VRA), the Ontario Alliance of Career Development Practitioners, a volunteer with Community Living London and is a supporter of the Canadian Paraplegic Association. 

In 2006, Phyllis was given an award for Integrity in Career Development through the Ontario Alliance of Career Development Practitioners. With Phyllis’ background working with the disabled she has developed a compassionate caring manner but at the same time empowers and gives the clients she works with a sense of purpose. An example of this is her volunteer work as a Ski Instructor for the disabled since 2007 with the London Track 3 Skiing Association in London, Ontario.
